Whether you’re the longtime CEO, or an intern finishing your first week, it’s important to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Need ideas? Read some of our new team members’ long weekend plans and how they’ll de-stress:
“For this upcoming long weekend, I’ll be enjoying the warmth of the Caribbean weather in Trinidad and Tobago; visiting family and friends and of course the beach! Sounds great doesn’t it? Well, can someone relay this to the airlines? Seems like a mortgage payment to fly these days. I’ll actually be spending this time enjoying and exploring my new home city of Toronto, checking a few of the many must-go places off my list!”

“…spend time with my family and friends…so I can wake up late in the morning. To de-stress from work I’m going to spending a lot of time with my kids and family. On working days, my kids miss me, so I’m going to take them out and play with them. I like to go on long walks in the evening with my family to keep myself happy and healthy. My hubby used to invite me to the gym every weekend, so I’m planning to give the gym a try. If I need, I’ll rest the next day. I’ll also prepare tasty food (some unhealthy but that’s fine), go to the movies with family, and have a get-together with friends so I can return to work fresh.”
“…I will be escaping from the city and into the forest for three days for a camping trip. I was hoping to do a deep woods portage trip, but timing and weather had other plans. After a little compromise, I will be off to Arrowhead in the Muskoka region with some friends and the BBQ for some relaxation and hopefully some sunshine!”

“I never feel too stressed out, but I believe long weekends are a great opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. So, I would like to spend this valuable time with my family and beautiful nature. I’m planning to go to the Niagara Falls with my family. It’s an awesome and beautiful creation by nature that de-stresses and energizes me. I would like to compile photography of nature. I also go shopping and out for long drives, and I would also like to visit High Park or a beach for a small picnic too.”
“…spending time with family and friends catching up on everyone lives and relaxing. One thing I like to do to de-stress from work is to play basketball at the Ryerson Athletic Centre. It keeps me physically active, gives me an outlet to focus on having fun, and allows me to bond with my friends. After playing basketball, most often I go out for all-you-can-eat sushi. Sushi is my favourite thing to eat. After playing hard, it is definitely a rewarding meal.”

“…away from the computer – I’m a programmer, so during the weekdays I spend most of my time on the computer. During the weekend, I try to stay away from the computers as much as possible. I use this opportunity to read a book, catch up with my friends, or spend time with my family.”
